Swimming pool privacy fence
In Georgia, swimming pool fence laws are in place to protect children from drowning incidents and to ensure pool safety. Here are the key requirements:
Georgia law mandates that swimming pools must be completely fenced in. Homeowners can use their house as one side of the fence, but if they do, they must install an alarm on the door leading to the pool from the inside of the home.
Fence Height and Ground Clearance:
The pool fence must be at least 4 feet tall.
The fence should begin no higher than 4 inches above the ground.
If the pool fence contains vertical slats, they must be less than 4 inches apart to prevent small children from squeezing through.
